1960s Style Dresses
1960’s style vintage dresses are chic and very fun to wear, having made a comeback to mainstream fashion. Pencil dresses, full circle dresses, and twin sets were the dress trends and they tended to fall above the knee much unlike the demure skirt styles of the 40’s and 50’s. Many of the most popular 1960’s dresses featured sheath or shift shapes and came in a rainbow of bright colour block patterns, mod art designs and geo prints. 1960’s women fashion was famed for its bold, bright and often clashing use of colour. Colours like red, yellow, orange and purple were worn during this period in dresses that would today be called boho style. Green dresses were worn as the perfect rebellion colour since it wasn’t worn much in the 1950’s. While olive green was a great colour choice in fall, emerald green was a favoured choice for party dresses. Lime green was mixed with bright pinks and yellows and worn on its own too.
